This workshop is the second and last in a series organised as part of the NREN Development Study being carried out by UbuntuNet Alliance, RENATER (the French NREN), IRD (Institut de recherche pour le développement) and CIRAD (Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement), with support from AFD (Agence française de développement).

The purpose of this workshop is to disseminate key findings from the NREN Development Study, the NREN maturity matrix, and to discuss a regional roadmap for supporting NRENs of Eastern and southern Africa.

AFD funds, supports and accelerates the transition to a fairer and more sustainable world as a contribution of France and French people to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The group has more than 4000 projects in 115 countries focusing on climate, biodiversity, peace, education, urban development, health and governance.

The workshop is being held as part of the JRES 2022 in Marseilles, France. The workshop will be held as a hybrid event with face to face to face participants in Marseilles and remote participants connecting via Zoom.
