DESCRIPTION:\nTheme: Resilient and Sustainable Research & Education Networ
ks for the Future\nResearch and education networks (RENs) must be built to
withstand emerging challenges while ensuring long-term sustainability. Th
is theme explores strategies for strengthening the resilience of RENs thro
ugh robust cybersecurity measures\, advanced connectivity solutions\, and
innovative policy frameworks. It also highlights the need for inclusive an
d equitable access to digital resources\, environmentally sustainable netw
orking practices\, and cross-border collaborations that drive global resea
rch excellence. By addressing key issues such as high-performance computin
 g\, open science\, disaster recovery\, and financial sustainability\, this
conference aims to shape the future of RENs.\nSubthemes\n1.      Net
work Resilience and Cybersecurity: Strategies for building robust network
infrastructures\, mitigating cyber threats\, and enhancing data protection
. Discussions will focus on best practices in network monitoring\, identit
y and access management\, and policies for safeguarding sensitive research
  data.\n2.      High-Performance Computing and Cloud for Research & E
ducation: The role of HPC in research\, the benefits of cloud infrastructu
re\, and strategies for making these technologies accessible to institutio
ns with limited resources. Discussions will focus on innovations in AI\, m
achine learning\, and big data analytics.\n3.      Open Science and O
pen Educational Resources: Frameworks for sharing research outputs\, imple
 menting FAIR (Findable\, Accessible\, Interoperable\, and Reusable) data p
rinciples\, and creating open access digital repositories.\n4.      T
he Future of Internet Connectivity for Research and Education: Emerging te
chnologies such as 5G\, Starlink and IPv6 are shaping the next generation
of research and education networks. Discussions also to include strategies
for expanding connectivity to underserved institutions\, improving networ
k performance\, and fostering global collaboration through enhanced intern
et infrastructure.\n5.      Policy and Governance for Sustainable Res
earch & Education Networks: Policy approaches that support equitable acces
s\, cybersecurity\, data protection\, and funding for RENs. Discussions to
include the role of government support and private sector partnerships in
shaping policies that enhance research collaboration and digital educatio
n.\n6.      Green and Sustainable Networks: Discussions will highligh
t innovations in green computing and sustainable ICT practices that contri
bute to environmentally responsible RENs.\n7.      Disaster Recovery
and Business Continuity for RENs: Best practices in disaster recovery plan
ning\, redundancy strategies\, and business continuity frameworks that ens
ure RENs can quickly recover from disruptions. Institutions will share ins
ights on building resilient systems that protect data integrity and mainta
in seamless operations during crises.\n8.      Monetization and Susta
inability of Research & Education Networks: various approaches to monetizi
ng REN services\, such as offering value-added services\, forming public-p
rivate partnerships\, and diversifying funding sources. Discussions will f
ocus on balancing affordability with sustainability\, reducing dependency
on donor funding\, and fostering financial resilience in research and educ
ation networksTo learn more please visit the official conference webpage:
